| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.25.4
Description
The issue is related to the
sys32 mremap function, sparc mmap check function, and sparc64 mmap check function in the Linux kernel. These functions omit some virtual-address range checks when the mremap MREMAP FIXED bit is not set. This allows local users to cause a denial of service (panic) via unspecified mremap calls.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.25.4, update to version 2.6.25.4 or later to resolve the issue.
