CVSS v2.0
4.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
NatterChat version 1.12
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML, potentially resulting from cross-site scripting (XSS) in SQL error messages. This can be achieved via the
txtUsername parameter to "registerDo.asp" or the txtRoomName parameter to "room new.asp".Recommendations
For NatterChat version 1.12, consider restricting access to the "registerDo.asp" and "room new.asp" endpoints to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the
txtUsername and txtRoomName parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
