CVE-2008-7214

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MOStlyCE versions prior to 2.4 Mambo versions 4.6.3 and earlier
Description A cross-site request forgery (CSRF) issue allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of administrators for requests that add new administrator accounts via the save task in a com users action. This can be exploited using a separate XSS vulnerability in the filemanager connector.
Recommendations For MOStlyCE versions prior to 2.4, update to version 2.4 or later to resolve the issue. For Mambo versions 4.6.3 and earlier, update to a version later than 4.6.3 to mitigate the risk. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the administrator/index2.php file and the com users action to minimize the risk of exploitation.
