| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Windows versions 2000 SP4, XP SP2 and SP3, Server 2003 SP2, Vista Gold, SP1, and SP2, and Server 2008 Gold and SP2
Description
A remote code execution issue exists in the way Microsoft Windows Embedded OpenType (EOT) font technology parses data records in specially crafted embedded fonts. This could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code via a crafted name table in a data record, triggering an integer truncation and a heap-based buffer overflow. If a user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker who successfully exploited this issue could take complete control of an affected system, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.

For Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 and SP3, Server 2003 SP2, Vista Gold, SP1, and SP2, and Server 2008 Gold and SP2, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
