Description The issue arises from the Windows kernel's failure to properly validate an argument passed to a system call, allowing local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. Recommendations For Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 and SP3, Server 2003 SP2, Vista Gold, SP1, and SP2, and Server 2008 Gold and SP2, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
