CVSS v2.0
4.6
Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.28
Description
The issue allows local users to bypass the intended namespace isolation and send arbitrary signals to all processes in all namespaces. This is due to the kill something info function in kernel/signal.c not considering PID namespaces when processing signals directed to PID -1.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.28, update to version 2.6.28 or later to resolve the issue.
