CVE-2009-1838

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 3.0.11 Thunderbird versions prior to 2.0.0.22 SeaMonkey versions prior to 1.1.17
Description: The issue is related to the garbage-collection implementation, which sets an element's owner document to null under certain circumstances. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript with chrome privileges via a crafted event handler, due to an incorrect context for the event handler.
Recommendations: For Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 3.0.11, update to version 3.0.11 or later. For Thunderbird versions prior to 2.0.0.22, update to version 2.0.0.22 or later. For SeaMonkey versions prior to 1.1.17, update to version 1.1.17 or later.
