Description:
A heap-based buffer overflow issue exists in the Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) component, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted WINS replication packet. This occurs due to an incorrect buffer-length calculation.
Recommendations:
For Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 and Server 2003 SP2, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
