CVE-2009-2732

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ntop versions 3.3.10 and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a daemon crash due to a NULL pointer dereference. This occurs when an Authorization HTTP header lacks a : (colon) character in the base64-decoded string, specifically targeting the checkHTTPpassword function.
Recommendations For ntop versions 3.3.10 and earlier, consider disabling the checkHTTPpassword function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available to prevent potential denial of service attacks.
