CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Mozilla Firefox versions 3.0.6 through 3.0.13 Mozilla Firefox version 3.5.x
Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically CPU consumption, via JavaScript code. This is achieved by using a long string value for the location.hash property.
Recommendations: For Mozilla Firefox versions 3.0.6 through 3.0.13, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. For Mozilla Firefox version 3.5.x, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the execution of JavaScript code that utilizes the location.hash property until a patch is available.
