The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in CPU consumption and application hang, via JavaScript code with a long string value for the
location.hash property.Recommendations:
For Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0.2900.2180 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling JavaScript execution until a patch is available. Restrict access to untrusted websites to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
