CVSS v2.0
7.1
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Sun Solaris versions 10 and OpenSolaris snv 41 through snv 122
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a system panic, when Network Cache Accelerator logging is enabled. This is due to improper handling of HTTP responses, which can trigger a NULL pointer dereference in the
nl7c http log function.Recommendations:
For Sun Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris snv 41 through snv 122, consider disabling NCA logging as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to the
nl7c http log function until a patch is available.Fix
