Description The issue allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL-based MySQL servers via a crafted certificate. This is possible because the vio verify callback function in viosslfactories.c accepts a value of zero for the depth of X.509 certificates when OpenSSL is used.
Recommendations For MySQL versions 5.0.x through 5.0.87, update to version 5.0.88 or later. For MySQL versions 5.1.x through 5.1.40, update to version 5.1.41 or later.
