Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a daemon crash, or possibly execute arbitrary code via crafted packets. This is due to a buffer overflow in the PowerDNS Recursor.
Recommendations
For PowerDNS Recursor versions prior to 3.1.7.2, update to version 3.1.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the PowerDNS Recursor to minimize the risk of exploitation.
