CVE-2010-0731

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GnuTLS library versions prior to 1.2.1
Description The issue allows remote attackers to bypass the certificate revocation list (CRL) check and cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a crafted X.509 certificate. This is related to the extraction of a serial number. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely and may lead to a violation of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.2.1, update to version 1.2.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the gnutls x509 crt get serial function until a patch is available. Avoid using crafted X.509 certificates in the affected library until the issue is resolved.
