CVE-2010-2805

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FreeType versions prior to 2.4.8 FreeType versions prior to 2.4.2
Description The issue concerns multiple vulnerabilities in the FreeType package, which can be exploited remotely to compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. Specifically, the FT Stream EnterFrame function in base/ftstream.c does not properly validate certain position values, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted font file.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.4.2, consider updating to version 2.4.2 or later to resolve the issue. For versions prior to 2.4.8, consider updating to version 2.4.8 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of crafted font files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
