CVE-2010-0033

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Microsoft Office PowerPoint versions prior to the fixed version
Description A remote code execution issue exists in the way that Microsoft Office PowerPoint handles specially crafted PowerPoint files. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PowerPoint document. An attacker who successfully exploits this issue could take complete control of an affected system, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations For Microsoft Office PowerPoint versions prior to the fixed version, update to the latest version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of crafted PowerPoint files until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive data and systems to minimize the risk of exploitation.
