Description A stack-based buffer overflow issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PowerPoint document. This is a remote code execution issue that could allow an attacker to take complete control of an affected system, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations For Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 SP3, consider avoiding the use of crafted PowerPoint files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of specially crafted PowerPoint files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
