Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Autonomy KeyView versions 10.4 through 10.9
Description
A heap-based buffer overflow issue exists in an unspecified library of Autonomy KeyView, which can be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by providing a crafted compound file, such as a Quattro Pro file, that is not properly handled by the Quattro speed reader (qpssr.dll).
Recommendations
For Autonomy KeyView versions 10.4 through 10.9, consider restricting access to the Quattro speed reader (qpssr.dll) to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
