Description
The issue arises from the improper handling of a '0' character in a domain name within the subject's Common Name (CN) field of an X.509 certificate. This allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority.
Recommendations
For libESMTP versions 1.0.4 and earlier, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
