CVE-2010-1728

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Opera versions prior to 10.53
Description The issue arises from improper handling of asynchronous document modifications, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via JavaScript. This is achieved by writing <marquee> sequences in an infinite loop, leading to attempted use of uninitialized memory.
Recommendations For Opera versions prior to 10.53, update to version 10.53 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling JavaScript execution for untrusted sources until the update is applied. Restrict access to potentially malicious websites to minimize the risk of exploitation.
