Description The issue is related to a type checking problem when handling a transformation of a text node with the IBM1147 character set. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption and application crash, via a crafted HTML document containing a BR element.
Recommendations For Apple Safari versions prior to 5.0 on Mac OS X 10.5 through 10.6 and Windows, update to version 5.0 or later. For Apple Safari versions prior to 4.1 on Mac OS X 10.4, update to version 4.1 or later. For Google Chrome versions prior to 5.0.375.70, update to version 5.0.375.70 or later.
