Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Apple Safari version 4.0.5
Description
The issue allows remote web servers to obtain sensitive information by logging HTTP requests. This occurs when Apple Safari sends the
Authorization: Basic header, intended for one web site, to a different web site named in a Location header received from the first site.Recommendations
For Apple Safari version 4.0.5, consider disabling the automatic sending of the
Authorization: Basic header in response to Location headers until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive information to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
