Description A stack-based buffer overflow issue exists in the php mysqlnd auth write function within the Mysqlnd extension. This allows attackers to potentially cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code by providing a long username or database name argument to the mysql connect or mysqli connect functions.
Recommendations For PHP versions 5.3 through 5.3.2, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue to prevent potential exploitation.
