CVSS v2.0
6.9

| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
gnome-subtitles version 1.0
Description
The issue allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse shared library in the current working directory. This is due to gnome-subtitles placing a zero-length directory name in the LD LIBRARY PATH.
Recommendations
For gnome-subtitles version 1.0, consider restricting access to the LD LIBRARY PATH environment variable to prevent malicious library loading until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using gnome-subtitles in untrusted environments to minimize the risk of exploitation.
