CVE-2010-3386
CVSS v2.0
6.9
Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
LTTng Userspace Tracer (aka UST) version 0.7
Description
The issue allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse shared library in the current working directory. This is due to usttrace in LTTng Userspace Tracer placing a zero-length directory name in the LD LIBRARY PATH.
Recommendations
For version 0.7, consider restricting access to the LD LIBRARY PATH environment variable to prevent malicious library loading until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the current working directory for library loading to minimize the risk of exploitation.
