Description A heap-based buffer overflow issue exists in the bcm connect function within the net/can/bcm.c file, which is part of the Controller Area Network (CAN) implementation. This issue might allow local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption, via a connect operation.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.36.2, update to version 2.6.36.2 or later to resolve the issue.
