CVE-2010-4262

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Xfig versions 3.2.4 through 3.2.5
Description The issue is a stack-based buffer overflow that can be triggered by a specially crafted FIG image, specifically one with a crafted color definition. This can cause a denial of service, resulting in a crash, and potentially allow the execution of arbitrary code.
Recommendations For Xfig versions 3.2.4 and 3.2.5, consider avoiding the use of crafted FIG images until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the processing of external FIG images to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
