CVE-2011-0414

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ISC BIND versions 9.7.1 through 9.7.2-P3
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a deadlock and daemon hang, by sending a query at specific times, such as during an IXFR transfer or a DDNS update.
Recommendations For versions 9.7.1 through 9.7.2-P3, consider restricting access to the server during IXFR transfers or DDNS updates to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, monitor server activity closely to quickly identify and respond to potential denial-of-service attempts. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
