Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a long DNS hostname with a large number of labels, triggering a heap-based buffer overflow in the compress add dlabel points function.
Recommendations For MaraDNS versions 1.4.03 through 1.4.05, consider applying a patch or fix that addresses the heap-based buffer overflow in the compress add dlabel points function to prevent exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
