Description The issue occurs during the processing of a .pcap file in the pcap-ng format, where an uninitialized pointer is freed, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a malformed file.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.2.0 through 1.2.14, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. For Wireshark versions 1.4.0 through 1.4.3, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. For Wireshark version 1.5.0, update to a newer version to resolve the issue.
