CVE-2011-1001

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Android SDK versions prior to 2.3
Description The issue is related to the dexdump tool in the Android SDK, which does not properly perform structural verification. This allows user-assisted remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to a crash, and possibly execute arbitrary code via a malformed APK or dex file. The attack vector involves a dex file that calls a method using more arguments than the number of registers declared for that method.
Recommendations For Android SDK versions prior to 2.3, update to version 2.3 or later to resolve the issue.
