Description The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service due to memory corruption and application crash. This is achieved via a Microsoft Office document with a crafted size field in the OfficeArtMetafileHeader, related to OfficeArtBlip. The vulnerability was demonstrated on the iPhone by Charlie Miller and Dion Blazakis during a Pwn2Own competition at CanSecWest 2011.
Recommendations For Apple Mac OS X versions prior to 10.6.7, update to version 10.6.7 or later to resolve the issue. For Apple iOS versions prior to 4.2.7, update to version 4.2.7 or later to resolve the issue. For Apple iOS versions 4.3.x prior to 4.3.2, update to version 4.3.2 or later to resolve the issue.
