Description A double free vulnerability exists in the tvb uncompress function, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash. This can be achieved by sending a packet with malformed data that utilizes zlib compression.

Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.2.x through 1.2.16, update to version 1.2.17 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.4.x through 1.4.6, update to version 1.4.7 or later.
