CVE-2011-2179

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Nagios version 3.2.3 Icinga versions prior to 1.4.1
Description The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the expand parameter. This can be demonstrated through a command action or a hosts action, enabling the execution of malicious scripts.
Recommendations For Nagios version 3.2.3, update to a version later than 3.2.3 to resolve the issue. For Icinga versions prior to 1.4.1, update to version 1.4.1 or later to fix the problem. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the config.cgi to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the expand parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
