| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.35
Description
The issue is related to the qdisc notify function in the Linux kernel, which does not prevent tc fill qdisc function calls from referencing builtin Qdisc structures. This allows local users to cause a denial of service, potentially resulting in a NULL pointer dereference and OOPS, or possibly having other unspecified impacts via a crafted call.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.35, update to version 2.6.35 or later to resolve the issue.
