Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via various parameters in different modules, including Calendar, Campaigns, com vtiger workflow, Dashboard, Potentials, Reports, Settings, and Home. The affected parameters include
viewname, activity mode, contact id, parent id, day, month, subtab, view, viewOption, start, return action, return module, query, return url, workflow id, display view, closingdate end, closingdate start, date closed, owner, leadsource, sales stage, type, folderid, returnaction, groupId, mode, parent, src module, profile id, roleid, action, and module.Recommendations
For vTiger CRM versions 5.2.1 and earlier, consider disabling the affected parameters and modules until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable modules, such as Calendar, Campaigns, com vtiger workflow, Dashboard, Potentials, Reports, Settings, and Home, to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the specified parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
