| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Camtasia Studio version 7.0.1 build 57
Description
The issue allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse
MFC90ENU.DLL or MFC90LOC.DLL file in the current working directory. This can be demonstrated by a directory that contains a .cmmp or .camrec file.Recommendations
For Camtasia Studio version 7.0.1 build 57, consider restricting access to the
MFC90ENU.DLL and MFC90LOC.DLL files to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using directories that contain .cmmp or .camrec files until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Fix
