VectorAV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions DAEMON Tools Lite version 4.35.6.0091 DAEMON Tools Pro Standard version 4.36.0309.0160
Description The issue allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse mfc80loc.dll file in the current working directory. This can be demonstrated by a directory that contains a .mds file.
Recommendations For DAEMON Tools Lite version 4.35.6.0091, consider restricting access to the current working directory to minimize the risk of exploitation. For DAEMON Tools Pro Standard version 4.36.0309.0160, avoid using directories that contain .mds files until the issue is resolved. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of the mfc80loc.dll file until a patch is available.
