CVE-2012-2744

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.34
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a system crash due to a NULL pointer dereference. This occurs when the nf conntrack ipv6 module is enabled and the system receives certain types of fragmented IPv6 packets.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.34, update to version 2.6.34 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the nf conntrack ipv6 module to minimize the risk of exploitation.
