| Vector | AV:A/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Apple iOS versions prior to 6
Description
The issue concerns the DNAv4 protocol implementation in the DHCP component, which sends Wi-Fi packets containing a MAC address of a host on a previously used network. This might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information about previous device locations by sniffing an unencrypted Wi-Fi network for these packets.
Recommendations
For Apple iOS versions prior to 6, update to iOS version 6 or later to resolve the issue.
