Description The issue is related to an integer overflow in the dissect xtp ecntl function in the XTP dissector. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a loop or application crash, via a large value for a span length.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.4.x through 1.4.14, update to version 1.4.15 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.6.x through 1.6.9, update to version 1.6.10 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.8.x through 1.8.1, update to version 1.8.2 or later.
