Description The issue is related to the EtherCAT Mailbox dissector in Wireshark, which does not properly handle certain integer fields. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in the application exiting, via a malformed packet.

Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.4.x through 1.4.14, update to version 1.4.15 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.6.x through 1.6.9, update to version 1.6.10 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.8.x through 1.8.1, update to version 1.8.2 or later.
