Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Layton Helpbox version 4.4.0
Description
The issue concerns multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via several parameters to specific API endpoints, including "writesolutionuser.asp" and "deletesolution.asp". The vulnerable parameters are:
sys solution id, sys requesttype id, sys problem desc, sys solution desc, sys problemsummary, usr Action testing, usr Escalation, usr Additional Resources, and sys solution id for the respective endpoints.Recommendations
For Layton Helpbox version 4.4.0, consider restricting access to the vulnerable parameters
sys solution id, sys requesttype id, sys problem desc, sys solution desc, sys problemsummary, usr Action testing, usr Escalation, and usr Additional Resources in the "writesolutionuser.asp" endpoint, and the sys solution id parameter in the "deletesolution.asp" endpoint, until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.XSS
