CVE-2012-5367

CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OrangeHRM version 2.7.1 RC 1
Description The issue allows remote authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary SQL commands. This can be achieved via the sortField parameter in the following API endpoints: "/symfony/web/index.php/admin/viewCustomers", "/symfony/web/index.php/admin/viewPayGrades", or "/symfony/web/index.php/admin/viewSystemUsers". The exploitation can be demonstrated using cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.
Recommendations For OrangeHRM version 2.7.1 RC 1, consider restricting access to the sortField parameter in the affected API endpoints until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the sortField parameter in the "/symfony/web/index.php/admin/viewCustomers", "/symfony/web/index.php/admin/viewPayGrades", or "/symfony/web/index.php/admin/viewSystemUsers" endpoints to minimize the risk of exploitation.
