CVE-2012-5785

CVSS v2.0

5.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Apache Axis2/Java versions 1.6.2 and earlier
Description The issue allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate because it does not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate.
Recommendations For Apache Axis2/Java versions 1.6.2 and earlier, consider updating to a version that verifies the server hostname against the X.509 certificate to prevent SSL server spoofing. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
