CVE-2012-6033
CVSS v2.0
4.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Xen versions 4.0 through 4.2
Description
The issue is related to the do tmem control function in the Transcendent Memory (TMEM) component, which does not properly check privileges. This allows local guest OS users to access control stack operations, potentially leading to unauthorized actions.
Recommendations
For Xen versions 4.0 through 4.2, consider restricting access to the do tmem control function until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limiting the privileges of local guest OS users may help minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
