CVSS v2.0
6.9
Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Xen versions 4.0 through 4.2
Description
The issue is related to the do tmem destroy pool function in the Transcendent Memory (TMEM) component, which does not properly validate pool ids. This allows local guest OS users to cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption and host crash, or potentially execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Xen versions 4.0 through 4.2, consider restricting access to the do tmem destroy pool function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available.
Fix
