CVE-2012-6541

CVSS v2.0

1.9

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 3.6
Description The issue exists in the ccid3 hc tx getsockopt function due to the lack of initialization of certain structures. This allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel stack memory via a crafted application.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.6, update to version 3.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ccid3 hc tx getsockopt function until a patch is available.
