CVSS v2.0
9.3
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 1.1
Description
The issue is related to the wavpack decode frame function in libavcodec/wavpack.c, which can be exploited by remote attackers through crafted WavPack data. This exploitation can trigger an out-of-bounds array access, possibly due to an off-by-one error. Additionally, multiple vulnerabilities in the libav package may lead to breaches in confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information, and these vulnerabilities can be exploited remotely.
Recommendations
For FFmpeg versions prior to 1.1, update to version 1.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the wavpack decode frame function in libavcodec/wavpack.c until a patch is available.
